CD of the Day :: Let's Go Sailing :: The Chaos In Order

Today, I'm loving the debut The Chaos in Order from Let's Go Sailing. I was trying to pick one song to feature, couldn't do it, so instead picked the entire cd as something the kids should check out. The obvious favorite is Sideways, but I'm digging every song I've heard so far.
Let's Go Sailing features frontwoman/songwriter Shana Levy from Rilo Kiley and she sings with a kind of laid back confidence that goes down easy and doesn't sound self-absorbed or overly invested in their own melancholy...a condition that seems to plague a lot of indie rockers nowadays.

Leak of the Day #1 :: Bjork :: Earth Intruders

Checkout the latest from Bjork's upcoming cd Volta. Strangely enough, Volta is a collaboration between Bjork and Timbaland, but I like what I'm hearing so far.

Radiohead :: Weird New Video
Some new music from Radiohead surfaced on the net in the form of a weirdly spliced together video which can be seen here.
The short video film is made by The Vapour Brothers, the team behind the video for 2001's 'I Might Be Wrong' and some promotional clips for some of their earlier work. The footage shows the band in the studio, Thom Yorke dancing while DJing and the group jamming.The soundtrack is a montage of music and dialogue, some of which is believed to be the new material the band are currently working on. We shall see.

Introducing :: Elvis Perkins :: Ash Wednesday
Check out the son of actor Anthony Perkins. His cd Ash Wednesday is full of quietly lovely songs evoking comparisons to lilting compositions by Elliot Smith or dare I say...Dylan?
I particularly favor "Ash Wednesday" and "While You Were Sleeping" which can both be found on Elvis' MySpace page.
You can also check out his video for "Without Love" right here:

Making... :: the :: Rough Cut :: Nico Vega
Rough Cuts highlight completely raw artists that you've probably never heard of, but I think you should have. Email MMB if you have a Rough Cut artist in mind. Introducing...Nico Vega...
Alanis Morissette :: My Humps Video :: No Joking
Alanis Morissette covering "My Humps"? You bet. I've always thought she has a great self-depricating sense of humor, but now I know she also has a keen eye for how ridiculous the business of music has become when a stupid song like "My Humps" gets as big as it did. If there was any question before about what a stupid song this is and how stupid listeners were for eating it up...Alanis' over-the-top dramatic ballad clears all that up...and made me laugh in the process.
Online Radio Waves :: 3 Sites to Listen to
If you're looking for the big 3 online radio hosts. Look no further. All three have their negs and positives, but they're great resources for finding new artists or artists close to your taste based on other artists.
Great Concert Site :: TOURFILTER
We all know Ticketmasters search engine sucks and it's very hard to find concert dates for smaller acts performing at smaller club type venues.
Tourfilter is a great resource to get all your concert info emailed directly to you. Cities are still limited but the database is growing everyday. And you can search by city or by artist. Check them out and tell your friends.
